Explain what changed and when
Distinguish between a system that has never made the room comfortable and one that previously performed differently. Note when the problem started and whether it followed renovation work, a change of use or a long idle period. You do not need to establish a cause; an accurate sequence is helpful.
Describe the extent of the problem too. Does it affect the whole property, one room or particular times of day? Where several indoor units are connected, identify which are running and their selected modes. This makes the request much clearer than simply saying it does not cool.
Check visible settings without dismantling
Look at the operating mode, temperature setting and fan speed on the controller. Cooling, fan-only operation and dehumidification are different instructions. Use the manual to interpret symbols and avoid service-button combinations found in videos for a different model.
Observe whether curtains, furniture or recently added items obstruct air inlets or outlets. Check filters only where these are intended for user access and the safety instructions can be followed. Do not insert objects or remove panels to look at the fan.
Record the room conditions
Explain whether windows were open, strong sunlight was entering, more people were present than usual, or doors connected the room to areas previously kept closed. These details provide context without prematurely concluding that the equipment is undersized or faulty.
If you already have a room thermometer, you can note its reading, time and position. There is no need to buy instruments or measure inside ducts. Readings taken in different places are not directly comparable and should not become a do-it-yourself diagnosis.
Request an assessment with clear information
Send the model reference, a photograph of the controller and any visible error code. A short recording may help describe an unfamiliar noise if it can be made safely. Avoid repeated resets, which can make the original sequence of events harder to explain.
If there is a burning smell, electrical tripping, ice or water where it should not be, stop using the system and seek assistance. Isolate the power only if it is safe to do so. A repair proposal should follow assessment, with the intended work clearly explained.
