Describe a realistic pattern of use
Explain whether the property is used in summer, at weekends or through winter as well. Describe how many rooms are normally occupied and whether guests arrive together or separately. This information helps compare room-based equipment with other possible arrangements.
Do not automatically select one large appliance for the entire home or count indoor units solely by the number of bedrooms. Layout and doors affect the proposal. Ask the installer to explain both single-room use and what happens when the whole property is occupied.
Choose controls people can understand
A straightforward remote and short operating instructions can prevent many avoidable questions. Decide which settings guests need to know and where each room's controller will be kept. Everyone does not need access to the owner's personal account.
If you want remote switching or monitoring, confirm the model's functions and connection requirements. Consider what happens if the router fails or the Wi-Fi password changes. An app is a control tool, not confirmation that the property has been inspected and is ready for arriving guests.
Check outdoor exposure and access
For a property near the sea, show the installer the intended location and describe the exposure you observe. Ask about the model's care instructions and servicing access, rather than assuming that all coastal locations present identical conditions.
Some specifications, including DENALI's, describe protective treatments for outdoor components. These do not mean immunity to the environment or remove the need for maintenance. They also do not justify enclosing the unit for protection: any arrangement must respect the manufacturer's installation requirements.
Make a plan for time away
Agree who will check the property before an arrival and whom to contact if a problem appears. Keep manuals, model references and installation documents available to the person looking after it. If an unresolved warning was present when you left, do not postpone it until guests are due.
Before a season of use, check normal operation and permitted user care early enough to arrange assistance if needed. For a long absence, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid improvised covers or disconnecting the equipment without considering any functions you intend to keep available.
